Miners’ Di Lullo named SIJHL Play It Again Sports player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that English River Miners forward Michael Di Lullo has been named its Play It Again Sports player of the week for the period ending Nov 19.

In a four-game road trip last week the 19-year-old Edmonton, Alta., product produced six points helping the Miners pick-up seven of a possible eight points along the way.

After being held off the scoresheet in a 3-2 shootout setback at league-leading Thief River Falls Thursday, Di Lullo tallied twice Friday as English River Miners handed the previously unbeaten Norskies their first loss of the season in a 4-2 decision.

Then heading to Hoyt Lakes for a two-game set vs. Minnesota, he notched the game-winner and doled out two assists in a 6-3 victory Saturday over the Iron Rangers.

Di Lullo then scored for a third straight outing as English River edged Minnesota 3-2 in overtime on Sunday to cap off a successful road swing for his club.

On the season he is averaging close to a point-per-game for the Miners with 19 in 20 outings, including 10 tallies.
