North Stars’ Auger named SIJHL – CCM Hockey Performer of the Month

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that Thunder Bay North Stars defenceman Kyle Auger has been named its CCM Hockey Performer of the Month for February.

In 11 games for the North Stars last month the 19-year-old Thunder Bay product had points in nine of them registering 18 in total on nine goals and as many assists.

He is also riding a five-game point streak with three of his markers during the month being game-winners with his overall efforts helping his club post a 8-1-1-1 record during the time frame.

Since joining the club in early January, Auger has produced at over a point-per-game pace with Thunder Bay picking up 30 in total in 21 outings on a dozen tallies and 18 helpers.

Overall, his five game-winning goals lead all SIJHL blueliners and puts him in a tie for third overall among all league skaters.

Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s CCM Hockey performer of the month award for January was Evan Walls, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Michael Johnson, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Jacob Siebenga, (F) English River Miners; Adam Withers, (F) Fort Frances Lakers & Mihali See, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.

CCM Hockey is an official partner of the SIJHL and the following awards for the 2017-18 season:

Performer of the Month; First and Second All-Star Teams; Top Defenceman; Rookie of the Year, Playoff MVP and the Gary Cook Memorial Award.
