Dylan Winsor and Jamie Fuchs notched two goals each and Connor Lemieux improved to 5-1-2 as Thunder Bay North Stars defeated Dryden 5-4. Lemieux hasn’t lost in regulation since Sept. 30.
Dryden never led in the game but erased three one-goal leads.
Winsor opened the scoring at 4:32 of the first. Derek Koivisto scored for Dryden 55 seconds later. Winsor added his second 54 seconds after Koivisto’s on the PP to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
Max Roby tied it up in the second period, unassisted on the power play. Fuchs scored at 7:53 for Thunder Bay but Ryland Maier knotted the score at 3-3 just eight seconds later.
Fuchs scored late in the second and Jake Parker tallied at 8:15 of the third to give the Stars a 5-3 lead. Ben Hackl scored for Dryden at 17:27 on the power play. Dryden pulled Eric Clark for 90 seconds but could find the equalizer.
Thunder Bay now has the second-best winning pct. at .688. Dryden sits fifth in standings but third in pct. with a .625 mark. The Stars are undefeated in six.
Dryden was 2-4 on the power play while Thunder Bay was 1-7.
Clark took the loss for Dryden, in relief of Zac MacDonald.
Lance Dysevick and Steve Anderson assessed 72 penalty minutes, 38 to the Stars, 34 to the Ice Dogs.
Dryden drew 650 fans to the game.
