Chance Loke, a 2006-born defenceman in his second SIJHL season, put together a truly outstanding regular season. Averaging over 27 minutes of ice time per game, Chance was relied upon in all situations—playing a critical role at even strength and on both special teams.
He recorded 12 goals and 42 assists for 54 points in 48 games, finishing 1st overall in points among all defencemen in the SIJHL. His total placed him an incredible 23 points ahead of the next closest defenceman, further separating him as the premier blueliner in the league. He also finished tied for 1st overall in assists with 42 among all skaters League Wide. Notably, he was the only defenceman to average over a point per game this season.
Beyond his offensive production, Chance’s composure and elite hockey IQ are foundational to the Thunder Bay Northstars’ success. He is a driving force behind the league’s top-ranked power play and penalty kill, demonstrating his value in every facet of the game.
