25/26 SIJHL Forward of the Year – Lucas Bertolin

Since joining the Thunder Bay Northstars in October, 2006-born forward Lucas Bertolin quickly established himself as one of the most dangerous and impactful players in the SIJHL.

In just 35 games, Lucas recorded 27 goals and 30 assists for 57 points, averaging an elite 1.63 points per game. He was a driving force behind the league’s top-ranked offence and proved to be a game-changer on any given shift.

What separates Lucas further is how he generated his offence. Of his 57 points, only 18 came on the power play—meaning an impressive 39 points were produced at even strength or while short-handed. His ability to impact the game in all situations speaks to his complete and relentless style of play.

A defining moment of his season came on November 1st, when Lucas delivered a remarkable five-goal performance, including three short-handed goals—an extremely rare short-handed hat trick and a testament to his offensive instincts and competitiveness.

Lucas Bertolin’s production, versatility, and ability to take over games make him one of the premier forwards in the league.
