North Stars’ Auger named SIJHL Play It Again Sports Player of the Week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Thunder Bay North Stars defenceman Kyle Auger has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 14.

In a pair of road triumphs in Minnesota over the weekend, the 19-year-old blueliner scored once and doled out four assists in two victories over the Iron Rangers.

Riding an eight-game point streak to begin the season, Auger currently leads all SIJHL blueliners in offensive production with 15 points on a trio of tallies and a dozen helpers.

His totals also tie him for sixth overall in league scoring.

Also earning consideration for player of the week honours was Bryce Young, (F) Red Lake Miners; Evan Walls (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Bailey Schmitz, (G) Thief River Falls Norskies; Kirk Coppock, (F) Fort Frances Lakers and Erik Engdahl, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
