North Stars humble Iron Rangers

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – The Thunder Bay North Stars saw 14 different skaters produce multiple-point efforts to help them win their 11th straight Superior International Junior Hockey League game Friday as they humbled the Minnesota Iron Rangers 15-0 at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

Thunder Bay took control early as they led 5-0 after one period on markers from Joel Willan, Maxime Fortin, Keighan Gerrie, Ben Erwin and Logan Mihalcin.

Jonathan Kilby then tallied twice in the second stanza as part of a four-point night while Alex Erwin also had a pair and Ryan Mignault had the other.

The North Stars then finished off the romp in the third getting goals from Kyle Auger, Michael Stubbs, Jayden Mrakic , Willan and Mignault.

Avery Siau, Brendan Gillis, Josh Bryant, Fortin, Gerrie and Auger all had three helpers apiece.

Dougie Newhouse posted his fourth shutout of the season for Thunder Bay, who have not allowed a goal against in three straight outings and 203 minutes and 45 seconds overall.

Synjen Amende and Nick Corneliusen both saw action in net for the Iron Rangers in the loss.
