North Stars roll over Iron Rangers

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay North Stars high-powered attack was on full display once again Tuesday evening as they dropped the Minnesota Iron Rangers 13-1 in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at the Fort William Gardens.

Sporting a SIJHL-best 307 goals so far this season, Thunder Bay was led offensively on this night by Ryan Mignault and Jacob Brown, who both notched hat tricks.

Jacob Anttonen tallied twice in the triumph while Matthew Halushak, Brendan Gillis, Jayden Mrakic, Evan Nicholas and Kyle Auger supplied singles.

Dishing out four assists in the win was Joel Willan with Gillis and Auger having three helpers apiece for four-point contests.

Mignault also set-up two markers while his three goals give him 41 on the campaign, which are the second-most in the league.

Scoring for the Iron Rangers was Joshua Baker on a third period breakaway as he reached the 15-goal plateau for Minnesota.

Goaltender Dougie Newhouse won his 11th straight start for the North Stars while Synjen Amende and Nick Corneliusen both saw time in net in defeat for the Iron Rangers.
