SIJHL MVP – Edison Weeks

By Tanner Schafer

Thunder Bay, ON – Congratulations to the SIJHL MVP Edison Weeks of the Thunder Bay North Stars. Weeks has wrapped up his 3 year career in Thunder Bay by winning the highest individual award that the league has to offer. It took Weeks around a month to really ramp up his scoring but once he did he paced the league through much of the season and finished with a SIJHL high 76 points in 49 games played. Weeks provided the strong leadership needed while sharing the ice with younger teammates such as SIJHL Rookie of the Year Easton Mikus. The ‘03 from Wainwright, AB helped see his team to the #3 seed in the SIJHL playoffs and a very comfortable sweep of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks in round 1. Although those performances weren’t used in voting he had 11 points in the 4 games played. Edison Weeks put in great performances all year long and has been rewarded with the SIJHL MVP.

Honorable mention for MVP goes to Owen Riffel of the Sioux Lookout Bombers and Dillon Phillips of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
