SIJHL Scholastic Achievement Award – Drew Caddo

By Thunder Bay Staff

Thunder Bay , ON – The SIJHL’s Scholastic Athlete of the Year is Thunder Bay North Stars defenceman Drew Caddo. Drew excelled both on the ice and in the classroom this year logging big minutes, registering 22 points in 45 games while being a full-time university student at Lakehead University. Drew is finishing his 2nd year enrolled in LU’s faculty of Education while also majoring in History. Juggling the load of a Junior A hockey schedule while being a full-time university student is not an easy feat. The month of February was particularly impressive as in a span of 29 days Drew played in 8 games, 6 of which were on the road, while also practising 16 times and completing his teaching placement at Five Mile School. He spent countless hours on a bus or in a hotel room studying or completing assignments throughout the season. Congratulations on this achievement, Drew. We wish you continued success in your future endeavours.

Honorable Mention for this award go to Eli Antoine of the Dryden Gm Ice Dogs and Preston Tauter of the Red Lake Miners
