North Stars’ Ben Erwin named SIJHL Play It Again Sports Player of the Week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Thunder Bay North Stars forward Ben Erwin has been named its Play It Again Sports Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 11.

In two games last week the 19-year-old Thunder Bay product notched a league-best seven goals and chipped in with three assists in a pair of North Stars victories vs. Minnesota.

Erwin tallied four times in a home ice triumph against the Iron Rangers Wednesday then tacked on three more in Hoyt Lakes Saturday.

He enters play this week fourth in the SIJHL in goals with 13 and sits tied for eighth in overall scoring with 20 points.

Also earning consideration for player of the week honours was Owen Lee, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Morgan Venne, (F) Red Lake Miners; Alec Daman, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Cameron Coutre, (F) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; and Christian Ward, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
